REVIEW: F-Bomb by Lani Lynn Vale

Rating:

F-Bomb Series: Bear Bottom Guardians MC #9
Genres: Romantic Suspense
You murder a man, and all of a sudden people are scared of you.
Slate Solis went from being a guy that people went to in times of need to an ex-con that people crossed the street to avoid being too close to.
He knows he’s done wrong, but out of all of his sins, only one really bothers him—coveting thy neighbor’s wife.
Harleigh Belle—the cute little lady that never gives him a second glance.
After seeing her for the first time while he was in prison, she’s stayed on his mind for three long years. Each time she comes in to visit with her friend on family day, he can’t help but stare.
Then the day comes that he’s set free, and he’s almost disappointed that he’ll never see her again.
Except fate has different plans.
He hasn’t been back in his house for more than three hours when he sees her.
Harleigh Belle in all her glory…oh, and her husband that is everything Slate isn’t.
He tells himself that her being fifty feet away from him, all day every day, is a complete coincidence. One that he shouldn’t take advantage of. The more time passes, the harder it gets to stay away. Until one day, and one very ill-timed thunderstorm, ruin everything.
Who knew that baby-making-weather was a real thing?

I’ve been waiting for this book! Harleigh Belle was a baby the last time that we saw her and I adore her parents. While Slate has been in a few books he has always been in prison having killed the man who killed his fiancee and unborn child. So you can see why this one would be the one to wait for!
As I said I have been waiting for this book. In fact, I got at 4 am the morning this book just so I could read it. Slate is out of prison and trying to start his life again. He was living with his sister and brother in-law but then moves back into his house. The same house which happens to be right next door to Harleigh.
This book was full of revelations. It really was and like any Lani Lynn Vale when they come you are like WHAT? and not always in a bad way. One thing that I worried about which is revealed in detail (and no I won’t tell you) was how Slate would handle falling for someone after his fiancee. I mean he loved her enough to kill someone over her.
Lani Lynn Vale handled it beautifully. I love Harleigh had some issues and chose to sleep in Slate’s hammock without his permission. Not only that but she wouldn’t back down about it. Her backstory reminded me a little of her mother but not to the extreme as her mom. I will say that Max (her father) is always a pleasure to see in any book.
This one made me laugh more than the last couple which is always a great thing. That is one thing I love about Lani Lynn Vale, you may have a “heavy” book or two in a series but then there are always others that will lighten things up a bit. There is still plenty of action and drama but it wasn’t as gut-wrenching.

So, I was just introduced to Lani Lynn Vale’s books, and I just ordered the paperback of Boomtown to start. I’m excited to learn that at least some of the characters in some of the books cross over. Thanks for the reviews!

You are so welcome! Boomtown is such a good book, although I will warn you there was a scene or two that made me cry.
