June 2021 Featured Author: Nora Roberts

Nora Roberts June 2021

This month I am bringing the featured author back and we are starting it off with one of my favorites, although i haven’t read any of her books in a while. I first discovered Nora Roberts back in the 90s. I found one of her books at the library and then again at the local bookstore. The rest as they say is history. There are some books I love so much more than others but she is one of my favorite authors.

Normally I would tell you which books of hers are my favorites and while I will list a few there are simply too many of hers to list that I enjoy. So throughout the month you are going to see plenty of reviews on various Nora Roberts books. She also writes as JD Robb and while I have only read a few of those books they are just as good. Below I have listed three books that are currently on my To Be Read Pile and sadly will have to wait their turn. They all three sound interesting and were published at various times. I am woefully behind when it comes to Nora Roberts books. Hopefully this summer I will catch up a little bit.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends.

Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations—and where her destiny awaits.

Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses. Not far from the luxurious castle where she is spending a week, she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor O’Dwyer. And since family is family, they invite her into their home and their lives. When Iona lands a job at the local stables, she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath. Cowboy, pirate, wild tribal horsemen, he’s three of her biggest fantasy weaknesses all in one big, bold package.

Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herself—and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. But nothing is as it seems. An ancient evil has wound its way around Iona’s family tree and must be defeated. Family and friends will fight with each other and for each other to keep the promise of hope—and love—alive…

It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived.

The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. In the years that followed, one would dedicate himself to a law enforcement career. Another would close herself off, trying to bury the memory of huddling in a ladies’ room, helplessly clutching her cell phone–until she finally found a way to pour her emotions into her art.

But one person wasn’t satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait–and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

In the town of Hawkins Hollow, it’s called The Seven. Every seven years, on the seventh day of the seventh month, strange things happen. It began when three young boys—Caleb, Fox, and Gage—went on a camping trip to The Pagan Stone…

It is only February, but Caleb Hawkins—descendant of the town founders—has already seen and felt the stirrings of evil. Though he can never forget the beginning of the terror in the woods twenty-one years ago, the signs have never been this strong before. Cal will need the help of his best friends Fox and Gage, but surprisingly he must rely on a stranger as well.

Reporter Quinn Black came to Hawkins Hollow hoping to make its eerie happenings the subject of her new book. She too can see the evil the locals cannot, somehow connecting her to the town—and to Cal. As winter turns to spring, they will shed their inhibitions, surrendering to a desire that will grow and form the cornerstone of a group of men and women bound by the fight against what is to come from out of the darkness…

Dark Witch looks good! It has been a very long time since I’ve read a Nora Roberts book! She has a ton of books to choose from.

  • Donna L Cheatle

It’s impossible to pick one specific book from Nora Roberts. I’ve read them all, as I’m an avid fan. I especially like the series she rights (In Death) as J D Robb. How someone can carry a series for 50+ books and still keep the freshness is amazing to me!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever read anything by Nora Roberts, but I do know I have LOTS of her titles on my wishlist. I’m preferential to paranormal romance but I’ll read just about anything as long as it’s fiction! I really want to read Dark Witch, the first book in the Cousins O’Dwyre trilogy. I LOVE witch stories <3
