MY REVIEW OCT 2021

We have finally come to the end of this series. I will say we have been on a crazy ride with this series and I have loved it. I was a little nervous going into this book because I wanted it all to end well. I didn’t realize it would end this well.

FBI Agent Fiona Evans has gone undercover with the Affirmative Alliance Group. She’s investigating Micheline Anderson, who we all know is dirty as all get out but seems to have those in cult convinced otherwise.

While there she meets Micheline’s son Jake Anderson, however like many o=people already know he’s not really Micheline’s son. He is the missing Colton baby that we have been looking for since the beginning of this series. Jake is there because his mother told him she had cancer and wanted to see him before she died. He doesn’t believe her and wants to leave as quickly as possible. He left home at age seventeen and after twenty three years he honestly could care less about the woman who raised him.

Jake and Fiona hit it off pretty quickly and one things begin to come to light, such as she’s undercover and who he really is, that urge to leave isn’t as strong for him as it was when he arrived.

With a different author writing each book in the series I was nervous about how Karen Whiddon was going to tie up all the loose ends. She did so beautifully. In fact, she made me like Payne Colton. I didn’t like him at all at first as he was awful to his children. However the way he is with Jake is almost heartbreaking. Also the way he does his best to make things right with Ace, Honestly getting shot and being in a coma was the best thing that ever happened to him.

About Karen Whiddon

Karen Whiddon spun fanciful tales for her younger brothers as early as the age of eleven. Growing up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, then the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, she found enough magic in the rugged peaks to keep her imagination fueled for years.

She’s also written Fae novels for Lovespell and a long time ago, she wrote five Precious Gem Romances for Kensington publishing. These she now owns again and has put them up for sale on Amazon.com among other places
